OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi coach Hugh Freeze likes his four running backs, praising them for their depth, toughness and versatility. Now he says all they need is a little room to run. Ole Miss struggled on offense for three quarters before finally pulling away for a 35-13 victory over Boise State on Thursday.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas coach Bret Bielema is focused on beating Nicholls State. There's nothing he can do at this point about the Razorbacks' school-record losing streak. Arkansas struggled in the second half of a 45-21 loss to Auburn on Saturday, running its slide to 10 games. The Razorbacks host Nicholls State this weekend.

HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Astros have fired manager Bo Porter in his second season with the club. General manager Jeff Luhnow says the decision wasn't based on Houston's record but because "we need a new direction in our clubhouse." The Astros entered Monday in fourth place in the AL West with a 59-79 record, second worst in the league.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with linebacker Quentin Groves as they continue tinkering with the roster. Groves is a six-year veteran who spent last season with Cleveland under Ray Horton, now the Titans' defensive coordinator.
