According to fire officials, the fires happened Monday night on Madison street in Yazoo City. They say an abandoned home caught fire first, then quickly spread to the home next door. A woman got out of a white vehicle and left her grandchild inside.Police say the child apparently put the car in drive and it rolled into building 29 at the complex after rolling over the grandmother's foot. One person was inside the building, no other injuries were reported.

    A Forest woman died Friday afternoon after a tree limb fell on her in her yard. According to Scott County Coroner Joe Bradford, 75-year-old Erma Rawson Lee, of Forest, died Friday around 3 p.m. at her home at 119 Oak Park Drive. Coroner Bradford says she was sitting in her yard under an oak tree by herself when a big limb fell out of the tree and struck Lee. A neighbor noticed Lee and called for help, says Coroner Bradford. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The Hinds County Sheriffs Office responded to a tip Sunday at 557 Kirkley Drive in Jackson. Deputies searched the home and found five pounds of high grademarijuana, scales, cell phones and a small caliber hand gun. 41-year-old Anthony Demond Thompson, also known as Kool-Aid, was arrested Sunday around 7 p.m. Sheriff Tyrone Lewis says Thompson lives with his mother and she is also being questioned. This is an ongoing investigation. Sheriff Lewis tells us he thinks this will ead to more arrests.
