Jason Ellis joined the News Channel 12 team in June of 2007 as the weekend meteorologist and weekday reporter.
The native South Carolinian is no stranger to the Magnolia State. Before arriving in the Capital City, Jason spent two years in Starkville, where he earned his Master’s in Geosciences/ Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State. While in Bulldog Country, Jason had the opportunity to chase storms, teach journalism classes at State and continue following SEC football.

Prior to MSU, Jason attended the University of South Carolina earning his degree in Broadcast Journalism. Through his six years of college, Jason gained an appreciation for working hard and putting off the real world for as long as possible.

In his spare time, Jason loves playing sports, finding ways to waste his days off and learning new things to do in Jackson.
