Hurricane Dolly continues to strengthen before landfall. She now has 100mph sustained winds which makes her a Category 2 hurricane. Some additional strengthening is possible. A hurricane warning is now in effect from Brownsville to Corpus Christi in Texas. Dolly is moving northwest at 7mph, so she has been slowing down over very warm water near the coastline. At this pace the eye will not pass over the Texas coast until early Wednesday afternoon central time. A wind gust of 119mph has been reported just east of Matamoros, Mexico. Dolly is expected to produce very heavy rainfall over the next 2 days in South Texas. Rainfall totals could surpass 20 inches.
