Cleanup efforts continue in Rankin County after weekend storm

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) -- Crews are working to clean up Rankin County after a tornado touched down over the weekend.

James Norris' home was damaged after Saturday morning's storm. He was asleep when his wife woke him to just in time before a tree came crashing down on his house, which is located in the Mill Creek subdivision. 

"She went out to get the paper, looked up and saw the clouds, heard the siren, and came in and woke me up," he said. 
WJTV's Jade Bulezca got the chance to ride along with Brian Grantham, of Rankin County Emergency Operations, has he examined damaged areas. 

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, the tornado in Rankin County was rated an EF1 twister.
