JACKSON, Miss (WJTV) - A new center for the homeless offers more than a temporary fix.
A new center on West Capitol street offers people a place to get a shower, receive mail, a job center, and professional mental health services.
"We do know that there is a population out here that needs services that have serious mental illnesses,
and we're just trying to meet those individuals. so with the budget cuts that does impact our abilities to provide services for individuals, but we are going to meet them wherever they are," said Kambria Thompson, Hinds Behavioral Health.
The center, which is a program affliated with Hinds Behavioral Health, will also provide food, clothes and other basic services.
