HATTIESBURG, Miss.(WHLT) - The City of Hattiesburg announces key post assignments the Parks and Recreation team.
John McLemore is the general manager of parks and ballfields, Chris McGee is general manager of programming, and Kristen Nooe is now the innovative programs coordinator.
McLemore has worked with the City of Hattiesburg for almost 30 years. He first began as a custodian for City Hall, and worked his way up as a division manager in Parks and Recreation.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with John for the past 24 years,” said Chief Administrative Officer Ann Jones. “His work ethic, institutional knowledge of our parks system and high standard of excellence make him a perfect fit for this role."
Mayor Toby Barker says due to McGee's experience with the Department of Recreational Sports at Th University of Southern Mississippi, he help "broaden the department's perspective."
“I believe by creating more robust and quality programming options within the Parks and Recreation Department, we can grow and cultivate a generation of citizens who appreciate Hattiesburg’s diversity and quality of life,” said Barker. "Chris McGee shares that vision, and I know he will be the leader and mentor we need to turn that vision into reality."
Parks and Recreation Director Ronnie Perkins believes Nooe has exceptional experiences in customer service to fulfill her role.
“Kristen brings a wealth of skills and a variety of experience to this department,” said Perkins. “But, her passion for customer service and programming with a very specific audience segment adds to the momentum the department is already experiencing.”
McLemore’s promotion and the positions held by McGee and Nooe are effective immediately.
