JACKSON, Miss (WJTV) - After 67 years, a fallen soldier finally makes his way home.

Army Sgt. First Class Lester Walker was captured during the Korean War. The soldier was a member of Battery B, 82nd anti-aircraft artillery automatic weapons team.

The 19-year-old from Monroe, Louisiana has been buried in North Korea for more than 67 years.

His remains were flown into Jackson this morning and his family was there to receive him. His brother is three years younger. Doug Walker says he's been waiting for this day since he was a teenager.

"It's two feelings. Sorrow and happiness and its closer to my brother. He's been gone for 68 years that's a long time. I almost didn't make it but I think my Lord and Savior for keeping me here long enough to see him."

Walker's service record in Korea makes him eligible for the Prisoner of War medal, a purple heart. and the United Nations Service medal to name a few.
