Boil water alert issued for more than 2,000 customers in Rolling Fork

ROLLING FORK, Miss (WJTV) - The City of Rolling Fork issues a precautionary boil water alert for customers who get their drinking water from their water supply in Sharkey County.

The alert affects 2,446 customers who are served by the system.

According to the Mississippi State Department of Health's website, water system officials notified the department of a system wide pressure loss because of a malfunction at the well.

Health officials said customers should boil their water for one minute before they consumer it.

The water system will be notified when tests show that the water is safe to drink.
