BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - More than 60,000 people who bought health insurance through the federal marketplace face price hikes next year. The state insurance department says rate increases could top 10 percent on Jan. 1. Insurance officials say the increases are larger than the price hikes before the federal health care law was put in place.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The only person arrested in a deadly Bourbon Street gunfight has made a brief court appearance with new lawyers. Trung Le remains in a New Orleans jail without bond on one count of first-degree murder. He also faces attempted murder charges in the wounding of nine others. His lawyers say he's innocent.

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Gulfport man faces charges in the slaying and sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl who was taken from an apartment complex last week. Police identified Alberto Julio Garcia as a person of interest several days ago. Ja-Naya (juh-NAY'-uh) Thompson's body was found in an abandoned trailer on July 17.

MIAMI (AP) - Hurricane forecasters in Miami say a tropical depression in the Atlantic has weakened to a tropical wave as it approaches the Lesser Antilles. Its maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph. Forecasts say the storm is likely to move westward and weaken.
