OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Josh Donaldson homered and doubled twice to back another solid start by Jesse Chavez, and the Oakland Athletics beat the Houston Astros 4-1 Sunday to complete a series sweep. Jed Lowrie and Eric Sogard added two hits apiece for the A's.
HOUSTON (AP) - LaMarcus Aldridge scored a franchise playoff-record 46 points and Damian Lillard added 31, including the go-ahead free throws in overtime, to lift the Portland Trail Blazers to a 122-120 victory over the Houston Rockets on Sunday in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. Aldridge fouled out with about a minute left in overtime and Lillard took over.
DULUTH, Ga. (AP) - Miguel Angel Jimenez held off Bernhard Langer to win the Greater Gwinnett Championship on Sunday, becoming only the third player to lead from start to finish in his Champions Tour debut. Jimenez closed with a 67 to finish two strokes ahead of Langer.
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - Matt Kuchar overcame a four-stroke deficit to finally finish on top, when his chip-in on the 18th hole gave him a 64 and a victory at the RBC Heritage on Sunday. Kuchar was four shots behind Luke Donald at the start but made that up with seven birdies on his first 10 holes.
