Four people are now behind bars facing federal drug charges. The Forest Police Chief says, on Saturday, federal, state and local authorities arrested Jessie Hall, Damon Jones, Willie Nelson Jr., and Eric Boone. Law enforcement officials had been investigating these men for about a year. Approximately 270-pounds of marijuana was seized from a raid at Hall's Trucking company on Highway 80 in Forest.
"We felt like they were bringing in large amounts of drugs in the city of Forest and Scott County," expresses Chief Robert Roncali.
Although Chief Roncali could not comment on the specifics, he says, this case is not closed.
"It was pretty big because they were crossing state lines. This is when we brought in the Bureau of Narcotics and also D.E.A. so they could track these people," explains Chief Roncali.
And, he hopes this drug bust will send a message to other possible drug dealers in the area.
"We got a beautiful city, some great people here, and we're not going to allow anyone to come in here and sell to our kids. We're not going to tolerate it. We're going to use everything we can to the extent of the law to bring them down," adds Chief Roncali.
The four men have a bond hearing in federal court on Thursday.
