An accident between a motorcyle and an SUV leaves one driver dead and the other charged with driving under the influence and killing someone.
It happened around 8:00 last night on Highway 51 near the Hinds-Copiah County line.
Witnesses tell troopers that 33-year-old Jeremiah Parrish passed 28-year-old John Cherrington and tried to make a right turn.
Cherrington, who was on a motorcyle, crashed into Parrish and died.
Parrish, who is from Crystal Springs, is facing charges of DUI manslaughter, driving with suspended license, and not having proof of insurance.
Investigators say Cherrington was from Pennsylvania and it appears that the two may have been racing.
