You have one last chance to participate in a historic cancer study.
It has the potential to change the face of cancer for future generations.
The American Cancer Society will host a news conference this morning to officially announce the community-wide enrollment for its Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3).
It's at 10:00 a.m. at Central Mississippi Medical Center.
The cancer study will run from April 23 through April 27.
The study will end nationwide in 2013.
More than 500 enrolled in 2012, and the American Cancer Society hopes for an even greater turnout this year.
Men and women who are willing to commit to the study must be between the ages of 30 and 65 and never have been diagnosed with cancer.
To enroll, individuals must provide a waist measurement, give a small blood sample, and complete baseline and enrollment survey.
Over the course of the study, participants will be asked to fill out follow-up surveys every few years for the next 20-30 years.
