JACKSON, MS -
The Jackson Public School District named Cadet Seggie McClendon, III of Wingfield High School is this year's "JROTC Cadet of the Year".
Cadet McClendon received the honor from Dr. Cedrick Gray, Jackson Public Schools Superintendent, along with his mom, Susie Smith and JROTC Director Colonel Paul Willis.
Cadet McClendon says his future goal is to receive an active duty commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.
Cadet McClendon has already been accepted to 6 Mississippi Public Colleges or Universities.
