The Cathedral of Saint Peter in downtown Jackson dedicated Thursday's daily mass to Pope Francis.
The prayers were all for the Pope. Parishioners prayed the new Pope will lead them to greater holiness. Monsignor Elvin Sunds, who presided over the Mass, recounted to story of Moses during his homily. God chose him to lead the Israelites out of slavery.
Turnout is usually low for daily mass. However today, more people showed up.
