Jackson -
A scary scene in West Jackson this morning as a house go up in flames and the fire threatens neighboring homes. It happened on West Pascagoula near Briggs Street in Jackson. That's just off the campus of Jackson State near the Penguin Restaurant.
The fire broke out around 7:45AM this morning. We initially reported it was a vacant home, but Chief Greg Travis tells us the department later learned someone does live in the house but wasn't home this morning. Thankfully no one was injured in the fire, but the house is a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
