The Leonard E. Warren Melanoma Foundation will conduct its 10th Annual Run From The Sun 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run on Saturday, April 6, at 5:30 PM in Madison.
"We've considered moving the event for several years," said foundation president Keith Warren. "We really liked the atmosphere of downtown Jackson, but traffic was becoming a safety issue. When we considered the alternative venues, we realized we had a golden opportunity in Madison by hosting the event at the Baptist Health Systems' campus."
The event will start at the Madison campus of Baptist Health Systems, located on Highland Colony Parkway, and it will be preceded by a free skin-cancer screening that is open to the public.
The first 600 participants will receive a Brooks moisture-wicking running shirt, and each participant will be eligible for door prizes, which include an iPad Mini and a Yeti cooler.
Music will be provided by Scott Albert Johnson, and Inky The Clown will provide entertainment for the children.
A 1-mile fun run will be conducted following the 5K run/walk.
