The American Red Cross Capital River Chapter will host their annual Save the Day Gala April 4 at the Jackson Country Club.
"The Save the Day Gala promotes our life-saving mission in the Greater Jackson Community," said Buddy McClain, Red Cross Greater Jackson Advisory Board Chair and owner of Jackson-area Sonic Drive-Ins. "It's a celebration of humanitarian leadership and service in our community."
The Gala will recognize and honor individuals from partner organizations and first responders that help us "save the day" during times of emergencies and disasters.
The 2013 honorees and service categories are as follows.

County Director, Emergency Management
Service to the Armed Forces
Major General Augustus L. (Leon) Collins
Adjutant General of Mississippi
Preparedness Health and Safety Services
Health and Safety Instructor
Senator Hillman Frazier
District 27 (Hinds County)
The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, live music and silent auction. The Gala follows at 6:30 p.m. with a gourmet buffet, awards ceremony and live auction.
"This will be a spectacular evening honoring those who assist our communities in Mississippi, across the country and around the world," said Sandra Hodge, CEO, Red Cross Mississippi Region.
