It took jurors less than an hour to find George Affleck guilty of capital murder and poses sing a firearm by a convicted weapon.
Affleck, 57, was convicted of beating and killing his ex-girlfriend Dianne Hearn, 57, in May 2011. Her body was found off Interstate 20. Investigators found Hearn's DNA in Affleck's house and truck. Defense attorneys argued that prosecutors never linked Affleck to a murder weapon.
Affleck faces life in prison plus additional time for possessing a firearm. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 16th. His attorneys say they will appeal the case.
