Heather Brewer, 30, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, pled guilty in federal court today to embezzlement from a federally-insured bank, U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis and FBI Special Agent in Charge Daniel McMullen announced. She will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III on June 27, 2013 at 9:30 a.m., and faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
Brewer admitted that, from December 2010 through June 2012, while working as a bank teller for BankPlus in Ridgeland, she embezzled approximately $59,470.00 from her teller drawer, another teller drawer, and from the ATM which she was responsible for balancing and replenishing with cash.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst.
