JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

As violent crimes go, armed robberies at convenience stores are among the most common in our region. Very often, the armed robber is never found. But News Channel 11 is helping police get in touch with people who may have critical clues.

The robbery happened around 3:00 a.m. at the Roadrunner Convenience store where Oakland Avenue meets Princeton Road.

A man let the clerk know he had a gun, then took money from the register and ran.

Johnson City Police said a man covered his face with a ski mask and dodged the surveillance camera's direct view.

"I think he knows there's a camera there and he's trying to keep his head down even though he did have a mask on," said Johnson City Police Steve Sherfey. "[He's] keeping his head down and went around to the side of the register."

The clerk told police two men were in the parking lot around the time of the robbery and now police think they may have information about what happened.

That's why officers need help tracking them down.

These men aren't suspects in the robbery. They are people who may know something about the man who robbed the store.

If you do know the men in these pictures, call Crime Stoppers at 434-6158.
