Loved ones of fallen Jackson Police Detective Eric Smith held a fundraiser Sunday.
Hundreds of people attended the event at Rooster's in Fondren.
For $10 participants received a plate with all the fixings, pulled pork, chicken tenders and more.
The restaurant donated the food and the employees donated their time.
Other restaurants in the area, like Walker's Drive-In, also participated in Sunday's event.
"Anytime that JPD, you know, we need them, they're there for us," said Nathan Glenn, Rooster's Co-Owner. "And, so we need to be there for them in time of crisis like this and try to help his family a little bit, get a little support. Anything we can do as a community, you know, that's what we're doing."
The restaurants hope to raise $10,000.
All proceeds will go to Detective Smith's family to help with funeral costs.
