Belhaven University will start construction Friday on a new center for international studies on its Jackson campus.
The Dr. Billy Kim International Center will be an 18,000 square foot facility located in the center of campus and is projected to cost $4 million.
Kim, pastor emeritus of 15,000-member Suwon Central Baptist Church of Suwon, South Korea, will speak at the groundbreaking ceremony at the Entergy Pavilion.
Belhaven officials say the international center will celebrate the relationship the university has with South Korea.
The building will include a learning center for both the International Studies and English as a Second Language majors. The upper level will have a conference facility with theater-style seating for 300.
