Deputies have arrested a 31-year-old St. Martin woman for allegedly mailing prescription pain patches to her husband at the Jackson County jail.
Sheriff Mike Byrd tells The Sun Herald Stephanie Renee Middleton is accused of mailing prescription Fentanyl pain patches to 34-yeaer-old Joseph Middleton, who is being held on three counts of grand larceny, possession of stolen property and burglary.
Deputies arrested Stephanie Middleton at her home Wednesday, where she was already under house arrest on a burglary conviction. She was arrested along with her husband on introducing contraband into a jail.
If her house arrest is revoked, Byrd says she'll have to serve her original sentence of eight years in prison.
