Dozens of people could be laid off in July due to some changes in Medicaid.
A spokesperson from the Mississippi Department of Health says Medicaid is changing the way it'll treat "high risk mothers."
Medicaid will now directly see those women--not the Health Department.
And that puts the jobs of about 40 people at risk.
The Health Department is now looking at other options to find additional funding in order to keep those employees or find other positions for them around the state.
As of right now, no changes have been made.
The new fiscal year begins on July 1.
