Kroger plans to end its popular double coupons promotion in all of its Mid-Atlantic stores on May 12th.
In a post on the grocery giant's Facebook page, Kroger said it would instead implement a "new lower prices program."
Manufacturer coupons, and other coupons will still be accepted at face value.
Kroger, like other grocery stores, offered double the money off for coupons up to 50 cents.
Kroger is instead pushing its downloadable coupons for smartphones through its website, and loyal customer mailings which will have customized coupons based on a shopper's spending habits.
