The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is leading the probe into the deaths of two inmates in the same week at the Washington County, Tennessee Detention Center.

The Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office says Charles Frederick Young III died Thursday morning after emergency crews took him from the jail to a local hospital.

The Sheriff's Office says Stewart Peppers died Monday Afternoon at the detention center.

A TBI spokesperson says there is currently an investigation into what led up to the deaths of Young and Peppers.

However, the TBI spokesperson says the deaths are unrelated and the men have different circumstances surrounding their deaths.

TBI is also waiting on autopsy results to determine the cause of death for both men, according to the spokesperson.
