Johnson Headed to Patrick Henry

Posted: Updated:

Former William Fleming Head Coach Lee Johnson has taken a job as an assistant at crosstown rival Patrick Henry. Johnson will help Alan Fiddler on the defensive side of the ball for the Patriots. Johnson has been a head coach at William Fleming, North Cross and Glenvar and hasn't been an assistant since 2001 when he was on Jeff Highfill's staff at William Byrd. Johnson's family is in the valley and he explained that after resigning from William Fleming's Head position he wasn't sure he was even going to coach at all this year. He explained that the opportunities that came up were all out of the area and he wasn't going to move his family at this time.  But he called Coach Fiddler late in the process to check on an open position on his staff that would allow him to stay in the area.
