Lexington Police are investigating the cause of a single car wreck that killed two people.
It happened Friday at 8:29 p.m. on the Rt. 11 Bypass.
According to a press release from the Lexington Chief of Police, a single vehicle carrying six passengers, two adults and four juveniles, traveling south bound on the bypass crossed the center line, exited the roadway and struck an overpass bridge abutment.
All six passengers were initially transported to Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital, where two of the juveniles were pronounced dead and one juvenile was released.
The driver, 36-year-old Ashley Paige Baker of Lexington, and front passenger, 26-year-old Brookley Summer Croder of Waynesboro, were both transferred to Roanoke Memorial Hospital -- along with the fourth juvenile -- for further treatment and evaluation.
