Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall now tells WSLS that investigators believe 24-year-old Ashley Kimberlin Rodriguez is dead.

Deputies have a warrant out for the arrest of 33-year-old Rosendo "Manuel" Rodriguez, on a charge of first degree murder.

The couple was married, and has four children together.  Sheriff Hall says other family members are caring for the children.

Hall added that investigators found Ashley's body covered with dirt, not buried, behind the office at Alleghany Memorial Park cemetery.  She had been shot in the face according to Hall, and dental records will be needed to positively confirm the body's identity.

The Alleghany County Sheriff's Office is investigating a body found near a cemetery on Monday.

According to Sheriff Kevin Hall, a woman's body was found behind an office near Alleghany Memorial Park cemetery, but a positive ID has not been made as of Monday night.

The sheriff added that investigators are not certain if the case is connected to the search for a missing mother in the county.

The body will be taken to the Medical Examiner's Office for identification.
