The exams took place Wednesday on the bodies of Carly and Sawyer Simpson. Investigators say both children died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
Their mother, Anna Simpson, is charged with murder in the deaths of the children, 7 and 5-years-old. She's also accused of shooting her husband Michael John Simpson.

Local novelist Chad Dudley, who is based down the street from the school, has donated two Japanese maple trees to help start the healing process and show support for the community and school. He tells 7 On Your Side he's shocked that is happened so close to where he lives.

A woman has been charged in the deaths of her young children in Pickens County.
According to the Pickens County Sheriff's Office, Suzanna Brown Simpson is charged in connection with the deaths of her 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son. She's also accused of shooting her husband Michael John Simpson.
Sheriff Rick Clark made the announcement at a 4 p.m. news conference Tuesday.
It all started when authorities found one person injured in a wreck in Pickens County around 5:30 a.m. Clark says EMS personnel found Suzanna, or "Anna" Simpson, behind the wheel of the wrecked truck. According to warrants, Simpson told a paramedic, "Ok, ok, I shot my whole family."
Sheriff Clark says at that point EMS called Sheriff's office deputies, who discovered the car was registered to a home just down the road, at 307 Cherokee Trail in Dacusville. When deputies arrived, they found the bodies of Carly Simpson, 7, and Sawyer Simpson, 5, shot to death in their beds. They also found Michael Simpson, badly injured.
Murder warrants against Anna Simpson go on to say that the wife and mother told an ER nurse at the hospital, "I just shot my kids and my husband and I tried to shoot myself several times, but couldn't do it."
Both Simpson children attended Dacusville Elementary. The principal there released a statement saying:
"Dacusville Elementary is deeply saddened by the loss of two of our children, Carly and Sawyer Simpson," Principal Dr. Michael Fleming stated in the release. "Both students were very special to the faculty, staff, and children of our school. Carly had a beautiful smile that brightened everyone's day. Sawyer's excitement for learning was contagious. Our heartfelt condolences go to the family."
Officials describe Suzanna Simpson as a "model parent" who volunteered with the PTA.
Her husband, Michael, is in critical condition, according to the hospital.
The State Law Enforcement Division has sent two crime investigation units to assist the Pickens County Sheriff's Office. The investigation continues. Keep checking back for the latest updates.
