Remembering Medgar Evers 50 Years Later

June 12th will mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Civil Rights' Leader Medgar Evers. He was gunned down in front of his home in West Jackson.

On Thursday, a wreath laying ceremony was held in front of his home. The NAACP is in town to hold its board meeting in honor of Evers. A board meeting hasn't been held in Jackson in 30 years.

There will be many events leading up to June 12th. A free gospel concert will be held Friday night at the Masonic Temple on Lynch Street. News Channel 12's Byron Brown and Erin Pickens will be hosting the event.
