Ex-Youth Minister Accused Of Sex Crimes

Pontotoc -

A 27-year-old former Pontotoc church youth minister faces four counts of sexual contacts with a minor female.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports Jaysen Hogue was arrested Tuesday and posted $40,000 bond while he awaits a formal hearing on charges May 23.

A Pontotoc County grand jury indicted Hogue on May 3, but the charges did not become public until his arrest.

Hogue is accused of two counts of fondling and two counts of sexual battery of a child under the age of 18 between October 2011 and Feb. 28, 2012.

The indictment claims the charges are aggravated by his being in a position of trust or authority over the alleged victim as her youth minister.

It was unclear whether Hogue has an attorney.
