High-tech beach body device now available in Tampa Bay

Posted: Updated:

Is there such a thing as a high-tech bikini body? When exercise and a healthy lifestyle are just not enough there is a newly approved FDA skin tightening device that seems promising. It is now available in the Tampa Bay area.

The Viora delivers pulsating radio frequency to target different tissue depths from superficial layers of the skin to the hypodermis. The device is cleared to treat loose skin, stretch marks and excess fat.

"What I did was had four different companies lend us their machines, we took pictures, we measure patients and we documented the results for months, the Viora by far worked the best," said Dr. Joshua Halpern.

The device can be used anywhere on the body, Sherri Sherdon, one of Dr. Halpern's patients decided to treat her face.

"Everyone saw a big difference, my mother thought I had a face lift," Sherdon said.

Sherdon says she started seeing results after the first of six treatments she received. Dr. Halpern says women in their 30s and 40s are not ready for plastic surgery and are turning to this type of new technology in lieu of going under the knife.

Dr. Halpern stressed a healthy lifestyle is critical to lasting results.
