Monday's Festival 2013 Headliner Concert is free

ROANOKE, VA -

ROANOKE, Va.  — The Board of Directors of Roanoke Festival in the Park, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Memorial Day concert featuring 1964: The Tribute, will be free and open to the public.

The Monday show is slated to begin at 2 p.m. with Roanoke native Jane Powell, and includes theSessions Band at 3 p.m. and 1964: The Tribute taking the stage to conclude the event.

"We wanted to thank Roanokers for their years of support of Festival, and the return of 1964: The Tribute to the Festival stage felt like the best way to do it," said A.W. (Skip) Brown, Producer and Treasurer for Roanoke Festival in the Park, Inc.

Roanoke's annual summer festival season officially began on Fri., May 24, with the kickoff of Roanoke Festival in the Park, Inc. and Bank of America present Festival 2013.  

Festival 2013 is being held at an alternate location this year—River's Edge Sports Complex in downtown Roanoke along Reserve Avenue and Wiley Drive.  Festival 2013 is presented by the Roanoke Festival in the Park, Inc. Board of Directors with support from Downtown Roanoke, Inc. (DRI).
