ETSU baseball to play Vanderbilt in NCAA Tournament

Today, the East Tennessee State University Buccaneers baseball team learned they will open up NCAA Tournament play against Vanderbilt on Friday at 7 p.m. The game is scheduled to be played at Vanderbilt.

A happy and proud homecoming for the ETSU Buccaneers baseball team after the blue and gold defeated Kennesaw State Sunday afternoon to earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

The win, marking another historic moment for ETSU.  The Bucs baseball team will be making its first NCAA regional appearance since 1981.   ASUN pitcher of the year, Kerry Doane, helping make that dream come true by pitching a complete game to defeat Kennesaw State 7-2.

Today the celebration continues at Poor Richard's where the team is gathering for a watch party for the NCAA selection show.  Today is the first time many fans, family members and friends will get to see the players since they defeated Kennesaw State.

64 teams will be announced today and told when are where they will play their first games in the NCAA tournament.
