UPDATE: Pregnant woman, others injured after motorcycles wreck

Duffield, VA (WJHL) -

Virginia State Police say a pregnant woman, among others, were injured after two motorcycles wrecked in Duffield Monday morning.

VSP told News Channel 11 four motorcycles were riding together. Officers say one of the motorcycles slowed down and turned off of Duff-Patt Highway due to a "check engine" light that turned on. According to officers, the second motorcycle in line pulled off of the road too. VSP says the third motorcycle didn't notice what was happening and had to slam on the breaks and lost control. Kenneth and Emily Robinette, a married couple from Swords Creek, Virginia, were thrown off of the motorcycle, according to officers. VSP also says Emily Robinette is pregnant. Police tell News Channel 11 the parents of Emily Robinette were driving the fourth motorcycle, which then ran over Emily and Kenneth Robinette.

Jim Wozniak with Wellmont Health System says Emily Robinette is in critical condition at a local hospital, while Kenneth Robinette is in good condition.

VSP says drugs and alcohol were not factors in the wreck.

Officers say the investigation into the incident continues.
