RALEIGH, N.C. -

Filming of the Emmy Award-winning Showtime original series "Homeland" arrived in downtown Raleigh Monday and will continue on Tuesday. But at least on Monday, the action was covert and security was tight.

WNCN anchor Melanie Sanders and photojournalist Dave Bertram tried to get video of star Claire Danes but were blocked by a security guard and a white van. Whenever they moved, the guard moved with them.

The secrecy shouldn't be a surprise. It's a series about the CIA after all, right?

Production will film scenes the third season on "Homeland" today and Tuesday at various locations along South Wilmington Street and Fayetteville Street.

Monday, filming will take place inside the North Carolina Supreme Court building. And on Tuesday, filming will continue in and around the Capitol and grounds.

No parking signs have been posted and will last until Tuesday at 8 p.m. on both curbsides of South Wilmington Street between East Morgan Street and Hargett Street and part of the east curb lane of the 100 Block of Fayetteville Street.

Starring Danes, Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin, "Homeland" is predominantly filmed in and around Charlotte. The location was chosen because of the state's film tax credits.

Season 3 is set to premiere Sept. 29.
