Police: Soldier Murdered in Hattiesburg bar fight

Hattiesburg Police confirm to us a soldier--who just returned from Afghanistan last month--has been murdered.

According to Police Lieutenant Jon Traxler, there was a bar fight around 12:45 Sunday morning at Benny's Boom Boom Room.

23-year-old Holden Hughes was stabbed to death in that fight. Police tell us he suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the hospital. They also tell us Holden was originally from the Jackson area and was stationed at Camp Shelby.

Two men are in custody for the stabbing death. Police say 23-year-old Aaron Dement and 31-year-old Derrick Valdez will both be charged with murdering the soldier.

Derrick Valdez's bond is set at 1 Million dollars, and Aaron Dement's Bond is set at $750,000.
