Vicksburg's three cab companies must have their vehicles inspected this month as part of new city regulations.
The Vicksburg Post reports that the city's Public Transportation Board approved the new rules about two months ago. The grace period ended Tuesday.
The cabs must be inspected at city's Vehicle Maintenance Department.
The board approved 20 amendments to the city's taxi ordinance in February.
One amendment changed the definition of "vehicle for hire" to include taxis, limousines and shuttles. Companies must buy an annual license for $300 for the first five vehicles and $25 for each additional car. Drivers must have commercial licenses.
Assistant City Clerk John Carroll says the three cab companies - Rocket, Executive and Pick Me Up - will get letters reminding them of the inspections.
