JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -

A judge dismisses a lawsuit filed by the business that wants to open a methadone clinic on Wesley Court in Johnson City.

Tri-Cities Holdings filed suit against the City of Johnson City, The Board of Directors, and The Board of Zoning and Appeals earlier this year.

In the suit, Tri-Cities Holdings alleges Johnson City's zoning ordinance discriminates against disabled people and defines people addicted to opiates as "disabled."

The lawsuit alleged the city's refusal to give Tri-Cities Holdings certain permits for an opiod treatment programs is unlawful.

In his decision, Judge Ronnie Greer disagreed and said the harm alleged by Tri-Cities Holdings is speculative until it can be demonstrated that Johnson City's ordinance actually prevents the business from opening the treatment facility.
