Meth traffickers sentenced to federal prison from Kinston bust

KINSTON, N.C. -

Three people arrested for trafficking methamphetamines from the western United States to Kinston have been sentenced to time in federal prison.

Guillermo Villarreal Sicairos, 30, of Culican, Mexico was sentenced to 156 months in federal prison; Katherine; Lasswell, 31, of Phoenix, Arizona, was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison and Elizabeth Villanueva, 44, of Tempe, Arizona was sentenced to 73 months in federal prison.

The three were arrested on May 4, 2012 when the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Operation "No Quarter" when they believed they were delivering meth to a dealer in our area, but the "dealer" was an undercover drug officer waiting to arrest them.

The three suspects were arrested when they arrived to deliver 1.9 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden in a clothes dryer in the SUV they were driving. The drugs seized had an approximate street value of $160,000.

Each defendant will be under 5 years of supervised release upon their release from the Bureau of Prisons.
