Officials Work Together Quickly To Capture At Large Inmate

UPDATE: Washington County Community Work Center inmate MICHEAL MADDOX, MDOC #181764, who escaped from a job site at the National Guard Armory in Greenville this morning, was captured this afternoon in Bolivar County.

 

Authorities had been searching for MADDOX, a 21-year-old, medium-built white male who is 5 feet 11 inches tall at 150 pounds with hazel eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion. Maddox is serving six years on two sentences for residential burglary from Lowndes County.

 

The Mississippi Department of Corrections would like to thank MDOC Field Officers, MSP K-9, Delta K-9, Bolivar Sheriff's Office and the Cleveland Police Department for collaborating and apprehending this inmate.

 

MADDOX now faces an additional five-year sentence, if convicted of escape.


 

Washington County Community Work Center inmate MICHEAL MADDOX, MDOC #181764, left a job site at the National Guard Armory in Greenville this morning. He was last seen about 10:35 a.m.  His state-issued clothing were found about 30 minutes later at the site.

 

Authorities are searching for MADDOX, a 21-year-old, medium-built white male who is 5 feet 11 inches tall at 150 pounds with hazel eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion. Maddox is serving six years on two sentences for residential burglary from Lowndes County.
