On Wednesday June 19, 2013 at approximately 0720 hours Vicksburg Police were dispatched by E-911 to The Halford Firm located at 1612 Mission 66 in reference to an armed robbery.
Aaron Halford reported, after arriving at his office, he opened the door after a knock. When he opened the door a male subject dressed in a lady’s wig, shades and a bandana forced his way in at gunpoint and demanded cash and valuables. Mr. Halford reported after he was robbed, the suspect bound his hands with wire and left the scene in his 2005 GMC Yukon. In addition to the stolen vehicle, the suspect stole an undetermined amount of cash, a cell phone, and jewelry.
The stolen vehicle was located abandoned several blocks from the crime scene by Investigators. After and intense investigation and search, the suspect was identified as DeShaun Grissom, 22 YOA. Grissom was arrested at 1820 hours at a relatives’ house located at 1308 Prospect Street Vicksburg, MS.
Grissom attempted to thwart his capture by surrounding himself with three pit bulls that were in the backyard of the residence. After being tased, Grissom was ordered away from the dogs, he was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered an undisclosed amount of cash at the time of the arrest.
Grissom is scheduled to appear in Vicksburg Municipal Court on June 20, 2013 at 1000 hours for an arraignment. He has been charged with Armed Robbery, Auto Theft, and Kidnapping.
