Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara says he has fired two deputies following investigation of a complaint involving the treatment of inmates and falsified reports.
Brisolara tells The Sun Herald Frederick Corso and Joseph Tuten were terminated June 11 following an internal affairs investigation. Both were corrections officers at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Brisolara says one had been with the jail several years and the other about a year.
The sheriff says another corrections officer advised administrative staff that he believed he had witnessed "serious policy violations" involving the two officers and one inmate.
