Fans of Blacksburg restaurant await announcement of TV contest winner

Posted: Updated:

The finalists, including a Blacksburg restaurant, are set for shopping network QVC's June Road Trip Contest.

107 Country WPSK's Caroline Cook entered Bull & Bones Brewhaus & Grill into a contest searching for "must-see foodie destinations." The deadline for entries was Sunday at midnight. Two remaining finalists will be shown on the show, "In the Kitchen with David" tonight and next week.

Bull & Bones was the third of five finalists and mentioned on the show last week. Cook, a New River Valley native, says she's a fan of David Venable's show and a fan of Bull & Bones. "I love Bull and Bones it is my hometown foodie destination," she said. "I can be found here usually two or three times per week so it seemed like the perfect thing to do and they wanted a local restaurant. Where else is the best place to go than Blacksburg, Virginia."

The contest winner will get a visit from Venable and his show, along with dinner. Cook says she can hardly wait. "I was very excited when I got the call from QVC," she explained. "I had chills and I still get chills talking about it, it was very exciting to have it air on QVC. It's just great to show off your hometown so if I am the true winner it is going to be extremely exciting. I won't be able to talk probably and we will have the whole restaurant full!

The winner will be announced on or about July 14.
