Bianca Spinosa joined the WNCN news team in July 2013.

Before moving to Raleigh, Bianca worked for LEX18 in Lexington, Ky. She will always remember covering the deadly March 2, 2012 tornadoes in Eastern Kentucky. She was the only reporter to file a live report from Morgan County, the hardest hit area, the night the tornado hit. All year, she continued to track progress as the community made strides rebuilding.

Bianca's reporting helped the station win awards that included a Regional Edward R. Murrow award for Best Newscast and Best Breaking News. Bianca covered many memorable events in the Bluegrass, including two Kentucky Derbys (she still has the hats!) and March Madness.

Bianca got her start in broadcasting in her hometown of Charlottesville, Va. at the Charlottesville Newsplex. She covered such high-profile cases as the murder of Morgan Harrington, the murder of UVa lacrosse student Yeardley Love, the blizzard that brought two feet of snow in 2010 and presidential campaign rallies during the election of 2008.

Bianca enjoys covering stories that make a difference in the community. Her reporting on a snow-damaged pet shelter in Virginia led to donations that helped give the animals a sturdier temporary home.

Bianca is thrilled to be in North Carolina and closer to the beach! A former competitive swimmer and rower, Bianca graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in English and Media Studies. She still runs and swims whenever she can, and has a passion for books, reading anything from literature to history to biographies.

She and her cat, Oliver, look forward to experiencing all North Carolina has to offer.
