More Prostitution & Pimping Arrests Made

According to Sheriff Bryan Bailey, on July 25, 2013 and July 26, 2013 the FBI, the Rankin County Sheriff's Office, the Attorney General's Office and the Pearl Police Department participated in a Nationwide Prostitution sting, targeting underage prostitution and human trafficking.            

Sheriff Bryan Bailey assigned several deputies to the tri county operation. Sheriff's Investigator Kristen Barton, who is part of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, led the operation in Rankin County. Deputies working undercover arranged for prostitutes to meet them at locations in Rankin County.            

The two day operation resulted in 11 arrests for prostitution and 3 arrests for promoting prostitution.              

During the investigation other "pimps" were identified and the investigation is continuing in conjunction with the FBI.                 

All suspects on felony charges appeared before Rankin County Court Judge Kent McDaniel, all suspects on misdemeanor charges appeared before Rankin County Justice Court Judge Richard Redfern.
