Lord Botetourt Looks to Build on Turnaround Season

Posted: Updated:

Lord Botetourt returned to the playoffs last season--and even though the Cavaliers lost that contest they enter 2013 with the understanding that the foundation has been poured. Day one of high school football camps hit the ground running all around the state of Virginia.  The opening VHSL games aren't until the 30th of the month.

At Lord Botetourt, they were at work today bright and early beginning at 7:45 am. Coming off a 6-4 season..the Cavs played for a share of the Blue Ridge District title in Week 10 before falling to perennial power Northside, but still made a playoff appearance under then first year head coach Jamie Harless.   They begin today a year older and a year wiser under the former Cave Spring defensive coordinator's system. Harless says the team just needed a plan and an understanding of why they do--what they do. He says having been taught a successful system he needed to only implement it at the school.
